Ranger Suarez An Option For Starting Rotation?
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Ranger Suarez has been excellent in a middle-relief role for the Phillies and the 25-year-old Venezuelan could get his shot in the starting rotation. Top pitching prospect Spencer Howard has been holding down the fifth spot in the rotation, but hasn't lasted past the fourth inning in any start. In fact, Howard has only gotten past the third inning once. In his last start, Suarez again followed Howard with three scoreless frames to keep the game under control for Philly. Suarez was groomed as a starter in the minor leagues and is yet to allow a run this season through 17 1/3 innings. He's not a must-add arm in fantasy, but Suarez is a name to monitor if he gets summoned to the starting rotation.
