Randy Arozarena Breaking Out In Playoffs
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays rookie outfielder Randy Arozarena has been this year's breakout star during the postseason. He became the first rookie position player to be named Most Valuable Player of an LCS or World Series in the American League Championship Series against the Astros. Arozarena's first hit in the World Series will be his 22nd this month, which would tie him with Derek Jeter for the most hits by a rookie in a single postseason. The 25-year-old will maintain rookie eligibility going into 2021, too. And if Arozarena hits a home run against the Dodgers, he'll tie the playoff home run record of eight currently held by Barry Bonds, Carlos Beltran and Nelson Cruz. He's five hits shy of the playoff record for hits by any player, which currently is held by Pablo Sandoval with 26. Arozarena leads all players this postseason in hits, runs (14), extra-base hits (11) and total bases (47). You can say he's already seriously boosted his fantasy stock heading into 2021.
