Pius Suter Moves To Vancouver
1 year agoThe Vancouver Canucks have picked up free-agent forward Pius Suter on a two-year, $3.2 million deal. The 27-year-old will suit up for his third NHL team after spending the past two seasons with Detroit and making his NHL debut in 2020-21 with Chicago. "Bringing in Pius for the next couple of years really helps us strengthen our center ice position," Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin said in a release. "Adding a player who has scored 43 goals the past three seasons will be a boost for us up front and he will also add to our penalty-killing unit as well. His flexibility to be able to play down the middle or on the wing will give (head coach Rick Tocchet) more options when putting together his forward lines." Suter produced a 24-point campaign in 79 games with the Red Wings in 2022-23 and has notched a total of 87 points (43 goals, 44 assists) overall in 216 NHL games.
