7 months agoColorado Avalanche goaltender Philipp Grubauer was rarely tested in an 18-save shutout in Saturday's 3-0 victory against the visiting Buffalo Sabres, helping the Avalanche to the season series sweep. Grubauer made a terrific save near the end of the first period, shutting down a breakaway by Buffalo's Sam Reinhart. It was his second shutout of the season, as his outstanding performance lessened the sting of the news about Gabriel Landeskog being out for the next four to six weeks. The Avalanche are back in action Monday night against the visiting Carolina Hurricanes.--Daniel E. Dobish - RotoBaller
