The Edmonton Oilers have recalled prospect defenseman Philip Broberg from Bakersfield (AHL). Broberg was expected to start the season with Edmonton, but had to be sent down because of multiple injuries to their forward group that forced the Oilers to call up Devin Shore. In any case, he's here now and is looking to prove to the club he is an NHL-caliber defenseman at this point in his career. Although he got a 23-game tryout last season, there is no guarantee that Broberg stays with the team past the nine games allowed for players still on their entry-level contracts. For fantasy purposes, Broberg has little value in redraft leagues but should be rostered in most dynasty formats. --Matt Garon - RotoBaller
