The Carolina Panthers agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million deal with linebacker Tahir Whitehead on Monday, according to a source. The deal contains $1.45 million in guarantees. Whitehead spent the last two seasons with the Raiders, and he had 108 tackles (79 solo), six tackles for loss, one QB hit and one pass defensed in a full 16 games. The soon-to-be 30-year-old has played a full season in each of the last three years and has over 100 combined tackles in each of the last four years with Oakland and Detroit. He's not the best coverage linebacker in the passing game, but he should help Carolina improve on their run defense, which was one of the worst in the league in 2019.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
