Seattle Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo (pectoral) was masterful in a 4-0 win over the Houston Astros on Friday. However, he exited early with a "little" bit of pectoral tightness, manager Dan Wilson told reporters. Woo is likely to undergo an MRI on Saturday. The 25-year-old tossed five innings of one-hit ball with seven strikeouts and a walk before coming back out for the sixth, throwing a couple of warmup pitches, and exiting with a trainer. Wilson doesn't seem concerned about the severity of Woo's injury, which is fortunate for AL West-leading Seattle as it closes in on a playoff berth. Woo has been one of the key reasons for the Mariners' success this season, having gone 15-7 with a 2.94 ERA, a .94 WHIP, and 198:61 K:BB over 186 2/3 innings. For now, he's scheduled to make his next start on Thursday against the Colorado Rockies.--Connor Byrne

Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Jose Berrios is moving from the starting rotation to the bullpen, manager John Schneider announced. He's losing his spot to the recently promoted Trey Yesavage, who will take on the Kansas City Royals in his second career start on Sunday. Berrios had been penciled in for that game, but the Jays are demoting the 31-year-old as a result of a prolonged slump. After Berrios posted a 5.83 earned-run average in June and a 4.64 ERA in July, he has logged a 5.56 mark in three outings this month. Overall, Berrios has gone 9-5 with a 4.06 ERA, a 1.29 WHIP, 135 strikeouts, and 54 walks in 164 innings this season. He's about to enter unfamiliar territory as a reliever, having come out of the bullpen in just one of his 274 career appearances.--Connor Byrne

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy is out of the starting lineup ahead of Friday's game against the San Francisco Giants. Unsurprisingly, the Dodgers will play matchups and bench Muncy against left-hander Robbie Ray. Muncy hasn't played much recently as he's only started in one of the last four games. The left-handed slugger hasn't done much with the bat lately and is a platoon player at this stage in his career. However, Muncy is always a threat to go deep at the plate when he's in the lineup. On Friday, Enrique Hernandez will take over third base and bat eighth versus Ray.--Andy Webb

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Tommy Edman is back in the starting lineup ahead of Friday's game against the San Francisco Giants. Edman has found himself on the bench in three of the last six games coming into Friday's contest. Possibly, the Dodgers are just trying to be cautious with Edman who recently came off the injured list. Regardless, Edman will cover center field and bat fifth versus left-hander Robbie Ray on Friday. Fantasy managers who have Edman rostered can go ahead and get him into their lineups ahead of first pitch.--Andy Webb

San Francisco Giants outfielder Jung Hoo Lee is out of the starting lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Lee is now taking a seat for the second time in the last three games. His absence on Friday makes sense with left-hander Clayton Kershaw on the mound for Los Angeles. Lee has been struggling lately as he's hitless over his last 20 at-bats. Hopefully, a night off will help him get back on track. Drew Gilbert will take over in center field and bat ninth on Friday. Lee isn't someone that needs to be rostered in all 12-team formats right now.--Andy Webb

San Diego Padres infielder Xander Bogaerts (foot) was scheduled to do an on-field workout on Friday. Sadly, that session was rained out, so Bogaerts return to the field will be pushed back slightly. Now, the plan is for Bogaerts to be activated from the injured list ahead of Monday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. He'll continue to workout with the team, but the Padres are going to wait a few more days before bringing Bogaerts back into the mix. This season, Bogaerts is slashing .262/.330/.387 with 10 home runs, 49 RBI, and 20 steals in 131 games. He should be able to give fantasy managers in the playoffs a boost down the stretch.--Andy Webb

Athletics infielder Zack Gelof (shoulder) was forced to make an early exit from Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Gelof suffered a left shoulder injury while making a diving play during the fifth inning. The A's decided to take the cautious approach and immediately remove him from the contest. He figures to undergo additional imaging to determine the severity of the injury. Darell Hernaiz took over at second base and could see increased playing time over there if Gelof misses time. Before exiting, Gelof went 0-for-1 at the plate with a walk and a run scored. Fantasy managers should check back on Saturday for another update on his status.--Andy Webb

Los Angeles Angels first baseman Nolan Schanuel (wrist) was activated from the 10-day injured list on Friday, and he is back in the starting lineup, playing first base and batting leadoff against Colorado Rockies right-hander Bradley Blalock at Coors Field. It will be Schanuel's first action in the big leagues in over three weeks due to a left-wrist bruise. During his minor-league rehab assignment, the left-handed hitter went 4-for-8 with a double and three runs scored. The 23-year-old former first-rounder will look to finish off his second full season in the big leagues strong. Schanuel typically isn't a great source of counting stats at the first base position, but he'll have more DFS sleeper appeal this weekend at hitter-friendly Coors Field. He is returning to a very modest .266/.355/.383 slash line, .738 OPS, 10 home runs, 49 RBI, 61 runs, and five steals on the year in 125 games.--Keith Hernandez

The Detroit Tigers called up infielder Jace Jung from Triple-A Toledo on Friday after placing infielder Colt Keith (rib cage) on the 10-day injured list with right rib-cage inflammation. Jung will rejoin the big-league roster to close out the regular season as infield depth with Keith on the shelf. While the 24-year-old could see some action at the hot corner to close out the month, Zach McKinstry and Andy Ibanez will be Detroit's top options to replace Keith until the postseason. In just 18 games for the Tigers this year, Jung went 5-for-45 (.111) with no homers, three RBI, seven walks, and 15 strikeouts in 53 trips to the plate. He was better in his rookie season last year, slashing .241/.362/.304 with no homers, three RBI, and a 29:15 K:BB in 34 games. The former first-rounder hit .252/.370/.447 with 17 homers and 74 RBI in 110 games at Toledo this year.--Keith Hernandez

The Detroit Tigers announced on Friday that they placed infielder Colt Keith (rib cage) on the 10-day injured list with right rib-cage inflammation and recalled infielder Jace Jung from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move. The Tigers initially announced that Keith left Thursday's game against the Cleveland Guardians with a back injury. The 24-year-old does not have any structural damage, but he's going to miss the rest of the regular season. They will be hoping that he can rejoin the team for the playoffs, and it will help if Detroit is able to secure a first-round bye. Keith has been a lineup regular for the first-place Tigers this year and will end his 2025 season by hitting .256 (106-for-414) with 13 home runs, 45 RBI, and 65 runs in 137 games. Zach McKinstry will be the team's primary option at third with Keith out.--Keith Hernandez

The Philadelphia Phillies announced on Friday that they reinstated infielder Alec Bohm (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list and optioned infielder Rafael Lantigua to Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move before their contest in Arizona against the Diamondbacks and right-hander Ryne Nelson. The Phillies have not released their starting lineup for Friday's series opener in the desert, but Bohm should be in it and starting at third base. The 29-year-old's return will push Otto Kemp back to a utility role for the first-place Phils. Bohm missed a minimum of 10 days on the IL with a cyst in his left (non-throwing) shoulder and did not require a minor-league rehab assignment before returning. The former first-rounder has hit a solid .272 (116-for-427) this year, but his power has been down (only nine homers) in 111 games.--Keith Hernandez

Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero (back) remains absent from the starting nine for Friday's game against the division-rival Boston Red Sox. Tristan Gray will start at the hot corner and will hit sixth against Red Sox left-hander Garrett Crochet. Caminero will miss a second straight game after he was pulled from Wednesday's game with mid-back tightness. The 22-year-old was able to take swings in the batting cages on Friday, so he could return to action as early as Saturday. Fantasy managers will want to check back then to see if he's active. The 22-year-old Dominican has had a true breakout season in 2025 in his first full year in the majors, slashing .259/.302/.537 with an .839 OPS, 44 home runs, 108 RBI, 89 runs scored, and seven steals in 146 games. Gray has played in only 24 games with Tampa this year and has three homers and eight RBI. Avoid him as a DFS sleeper against Crochet.--Keith Hernandez

Boston Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony (oblique) is walking on a treadmill and is riding an exercise bike, but he has yet to resume baseball activities while recovering from an oblique strain, according to Conor Ryan of Boston.com. The 21-year-old landed on the injured list on Sept. 3, and it remains to be seen if he'll be able to rejoin the team before the end of the regular season in September. The BoSox could really use his help, as they've really struggled as a team since he went down, but they are not going to rush one of their best young players back too soon. The main goal for Boston will be to have Anthony ready to go if they can clinch a wild-card spot in the American League. The former second-round pick in 2022 looked great in his first 71 big-league games before getting hurt, going 75-for-257 (.292) with eight homers, 32 RBI, 48 runs, and four stolen bases.--Keith Hernandez

The Houston Astros placed outfielder/designated hitter Yordan Alvarez (ankle) on the 10-day injured list on Friday with a left-ankle sprain, according to Chandler Rome of The Athletic. The move is retroactive to Sept. 16. The good news is that the Astros are getting slugging third baseman Isaac Paredes (hamstring) back from the IL. Alvarez suffered a significant ankle sprain this week when he slipped on home plate. The three-time All-Star will now miss the rest of the regular season and probably will not be ready for the start of the playoffs (if Houston qualifies) in early October. Alvarez is getting better, but he's been a slow healer and also missed a giant chunk of the 2025 season with a hand ailment. Despite his injuries, he's hit .273 (45-for-165) with six homers, 27 RBI, and 17 runs in only 48 games this season. The Astros need Alvarez's bat in their lineup if they want to make a deep postseason run.--Keith Hernandez

Detroit Tigers right-handed reliever Kyle Finnegan (groin) is with the team on Friday and is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list before the series opener against the Atlanta Braves, according to Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic. Finnegan is expecting to be active. "Ready to go," he said. The 34-year-old veteran will be returning to Detroit's bullpen after going on the IL at the beginning of the month with a strained right adductor. Don't be surprised if the Tigers ease him back into the late-inning mix in the bullpen, but Finnegan should at least be in play to share closing duties with Will Vest by the time the start of the playoffs roll around in October. Since coming over to Detroit at the deadline in a trade with the Washington Nationals, he has not allowed a run in 14 1/3 innings pitched with four saves, 19 strikeouts, and only three walks. Finnegan had 20 saves with the Nats in the first half of the season and has 112 total in his six big-league seasons.--Keith Hernandez
