5 days agoAtlanta Hawks center Alex Len (back) was able to get through Friday's practice without any setbacks. He is hopefully over his back injuries and was able to suit up during the last two preseason games. There is a good chance that Len can earn the starting center job in Atlanta. He'll have decent late round value in most formats because he has a path to reliable minutes in Atlanta.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Kevin Chouinard

5 days agoAtlanta Hawks guard Kevin Huerter (knee) was able to get through practice on Friday without any issues. He hasn't played in the preseason yet because of knee pain. There is a chance he gets out there for a game against the Heat on Monday. Huerter has some late round appeal in most formats, assuming he's healthy to begin the regular season.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Kevin Chouinard

5 days agoSacramento Kings guard Cory Joseph (calf) is likely going to miss the rest of the preseason, according to head coach Luke Walton. The Kings have just two games left, so it's not a huge deal to give Joseph a few days off. Joseph is battling and likely beating Yogi Ferrell for backup minutes at the guard position. However, there probably won't be enough minutes left behind De'Aaron Fox to warrant rostering Joseph.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Sean Cunningham

5 days agoCharlotte Hornets forward Nicolas Batum (Achilles) suffered an injury on Wednesday and could be shut down for most of the preseason. He did some pre-game work on Friday, but continues to deal with the right Achilles issue. However, the Hornets are rebuilding, so a veteran like Batum doesn't have great value on that organization. He could be a risky option to draft even in 12-team standard leagues to begin the season.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Rick Bonnell

5 days agoDallas Mavericks forward/center Dwight Powell (hamstring) has been making progress, but won't play in the preseason. He suffered a left hamstring injury last week and the team is going to be cautious with him during camp. They will re-evaluate Powell before the season opener. Powell still should have value in almost all formats despite the injury. Maximilian Kleber would benefit the most, assuming Powell misses time in the regular season. Boban Marjanovic might get a few extra minutes as well.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Tim MacMahon

6 days agoPhiladelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (rest) has been ruled out for Thursday's preseason game against the Charlotte Hornets. However, Embiid will suit up for Sunday's game against the Orlando Magic. He wants to play in over 70 games this season, but that means he'll play a few less minutes per game than he did last season. Embiid remains a top target for fantasy leagues despite the risk of injury.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Kyle Neubeck

6 days agoChicago Bulls center Wendell Carter Jr. (tailbone) was able to suit up for Thursday's practice. He has been upgraded to questionable for Friday's preseason game against the Indiana Pacers. Carter has dealt with multiple minor injuries during camp this season, but remains a solid fantasy bet. He expects to be fine for opening night and he'll have plenty of upside as the starting center in Chicago.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: K.C. Johnson

6 days agoCharlotte Hornets guard/forward Nicolas Batum (Achilles) has been ruled out for Friday's preseason contest against the Philadelphia 76ers. Batum exited early on Wednesday because of right Achilles soreness. There is no reason to believe that this is going to be a lingering injury for Batum. However, he's a veteran player on a rebuilding Hornets team. He's probably someone only worth looking at late in fantasy drafts. Malik Monk and Dwayne Bacon will see more minutes most likely without Batum on the floor during Friday's contest.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Charlotte Hornets PR

6 days agoPhoenix Suns forward Kelly Oubre Jr. (wrist) is listed as probable for Thursday's preseason contest against the Sacramento Kings. Both Mikal Bridges (knee) and Aron Baynes (nose) are expected to play in this matchup as well. Oubre has been dealing with right wrist tendinitis, but hopefully that isn't something that is going to linger. Oubre should have some fairly reliable fantasy value this season in Phoenix.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Gina Mizell

6 days agoPhoenix Suns forward Mikal Bridges (knee) is listed as probable for Thursday's preseason game against the Sacramento Kings. Bridges is dealing with a right patella bone bruise that has been lingering all camp. He should earn some regular minutes in the Suns young rotation this season. Bridges is worth grabbing in the last few rounds of most fantasy leagues.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Gina Mizell

6 days agoSacramento Kings center Dewayne Dedmon (illness) is expected to suit up for Thursday's preseason contest against the Phoenix Suns. He averaged 10.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists during his time in Atlanta last season. He shot well from the floor as well, so Dedmon's fantasy value is on the rise. He's competing with Harry Giles and Richaun Holmes for minutes in Sacramento. Dedmon is the best fantasy option out of the trio.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Sacramento Kings
Share:
6 days agoMemphis Grizzlies center Jonas Valanciunas (foot) could be sidelined for most of the preseason due to a sore foot. However, head coach Taylor Jenkins said the team is not concerned about the injury heading into the regular season. The Grizzlies will likely be cautious with their veteran big man in the preseason. His fantasy value shouldn't drop because of this minor foot issue.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Michael Wallace

6 days agoPhoenix Suns guard Tyler Johnson (head) is listed as questionable for Thursday's preseason contest against the Sacramento Kings. Johnson is dealing with a migraine and has little incentive to play in this one. He should be fine for the regular season opener, but it's unclear how much he'll play on the young Suns roster.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Gina Mizell

6 days agoBrooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving played just one minute during preseason play in China against Los Angeles after he was forced to leave early as a result of an inadvertent shot to the face from Lakers guard Rajon Rondo. Irving suffered a facial fracture during an offseason pickup game and was observed sporting a mask in this one. His status is unknown moving forward, but for those who have drafted already, this is a cause for concern.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Rachel Nichols

7 days agoUtah Jazz center Rudy Gobert (rest) and forward Joe Ingles (rest) have been ruled out for Wednesday's preseason game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Gobert has not played in the preseason yet, but he doesn't really need to warm up. He played for France at the FIBA tournament and the Jazz aren't going to push him. Both players should be fine for opening day and hold reliable fantasy value.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Utah Jazz

NFL Survivor Pool Picks (Week 7) - Targets and Avoids

Another week, more upsets. The Cowboys, Chiefs and Chargers all went down knocking out about 15-20 percent of remaining entrants in survivor pools, including myself. Titanic Disappointment - Will Ryan Tannehill Help Tennessee?

In the midst of being shutout by the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Tennesse Titans coach Mike Vrabel made a move that many casual NFL fans had been expecting for the past few weeks: he decided to give Ryan Tannehill a shot at quarterback instead of Marcus Mariota. While Tannehill wasn't noticeably better on Sunday, throwing... Read More

We Must Overreact Immediately! Week 6 Outliers

In Week 6, several players exploded in fantasy lineups. At the quarterback... Read More
