Packers Prefer To Trade Aaron Rodgers?
2 years agoAn offseason trade of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers remains an option for a variety of reasons, and league sources believe that the Packers actually would prefer to trade him, just as they once did with Brett Favre late in his career. The same sources believe that Rodgers is well aware of the franchise's feelings on the situation. The future Hall of Fame QB remains undecided on his playing future yet again but also said a trade "wouldn't offend me, and it wouldn't make me feel like a victim." Green Bay is currently projected to be more than $16 million over the 2023 salary cap, and they have plenty of impending free agents. Rodgers is guaranteed $59.5 million in 2023 and another $49.25 million in 2024. A Rodgers trade would allow Jordan Love to jump into the starting role under center, while a change of scenery could boost Rodgers' fantasy appeal to end his career.
