No Timetable For Ezequiel Tovar
Ezequiel Tovar (oblique) continues to receive treatment and rehab for hi strained left oblique, according to MLB.com. Interim manager Warren Schaeffer said that after meeting with the team's training staff, it was determined that there isn't a timetable for Tovar's return. The 23-year-old finally started jogging last week for the first time since landing on the 10-day injured list on June 6, but as of right now, it doesn't appear that he's resumed any actual baseball activities, which means he's likely at least several weeks from a return to the big-league roster. With time running out in the first half of the season, we might not see Tovar until after the mid-July All-Star break, especially if he requires a minor-league rehab assignment. Until Tovar is able to return, rookie Ryan Ritter is expected to continue serving as Colorado's primary shortstop.
