No Injury Concerns For Freddy Peralta
2 years agoAlthough Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta (lat, shoulder) won't pitch for the Dominican Republic in the 2023 World Baseball Classic, the team is saying that he has no injury concerns heading into spring training, according to sources. Peralta dealt with several injuries in 2022 and only made 17 starts for the Brew Crew, going 4-4 with a 3.58 ERA (3.06 FIP), 1.04 WHIP and career-low 27.1 percent strikeout rate in 78 innings pitched. The 26-year-old was pretty strong when he was healthy, though, so fantasy managers have to be encouraged that he should open the 2023 season at full strength. There is high-end stuff here, but durability is the question, as Peralta has thrown more than 100 innings in a season just once in his five big-league campaigns.
