Nick Pivetta Tosses Quality Start, Picks Up Win
Nick Pivetta earned his sixth win of the season on Friday, throwing six innings of two-run ball in a 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Pivetta scattered six hits, walked none, and punched out eight in a solid effort. The 32-year-old has been excellent in his first season with San Diego, as it appears the shift away from Fenway Park has been a good one for him. He now has a 6-2 record to go with a 2.74 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and 71:18 K:BB ratio over 62 ⅓ IP. Pivetta is certainly a must-start pitcher in fantasy and is working his way up the starting pitcher rankings quickly. His next outing should come Wednesday in San Francisco, which is a middle-of-the-pack matchup in a good pitcher's park. Start Pivetta with confidence.
