7/4:The New York Islanders have signed eight-year veteran Robin Lehner to a one-year contract in their latest attempt to shore up their goaltending situation. The former Buffalo Sabre is coming off of a down year in which he had a .908 save percentage and won only 14 games in 50 starts. This comes after two straight seasons of posting a save percentage of .920 or better, so the Islanders are betting on a bounce-back season for Lehner, who has a career .915 average save percentage. New York may not be a better situation for him, though, as the Islanders gave up 293 goals last year, the highest mark in the league, and have seen a number of talented players such as John Tavares and Calvin De Haan leave in free agency. Lehner remains a lower-tier goaltender in all formats, even if he does secure the starting job in New York.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBaller
