Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitchell Marner needed only seven seconds to open the scoring against Minnesota on Thursday, matching Charlie Conacher's franchise record for fastest goal from the start of a game. With only 5:38 played, Marner already had two goals, but the Leafs still ended up losing the game 4-3. John Tavares had two assists, while Michael Hutchinson finished his team debut with 30 saves and a .882 save percentage. Sitting on 53 points through 39 games, Marner is the sixth-best scorer in the league, but amazingly, he wasn't selected for the All-Star Game, which will take place later this month. He should be out there playing with some extra fire following the snub, so fantasy owners must be pleased.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
