Miles Sanders, DeVonta Smith Out Wednesday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle, foot) and rookie wide receiver DeVonta Smith (headache) both missed practice on Wednesday. Sanders is week-to-week with a low ankle sprain but isn't expected to play this Sunday against the Detroit Lions in a great matchup. Boston Scott is expected to handle early downs, with rookie Kenneth Gainwell serving as the pass-catching back. Jordan Howard could also be called up from the practice squad and could steal valuable goal-line touches. Gainwell will have more appeal as a PPR flex, while Scott and Howard will be touchdown-dependent flexes in deeper leagues. Smith should have a good chance to play in Week 8, where he'll have real WR2 upside against the winless Lions.
