Mike Trout On The Fence About Playing In 2020
4 years agoWith Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout and his wife, Jessica, expecting their first child in August, he is discussing the possibility of sitting out in 2020 on a daily basis. "Honestly, I still don't feel comfortable," Trout told reporters Friday. The three-time American League MVP continues to have discussions with general manager Billy Eppler and manager Joe Maddon as well. He left open the possibility of not playing until the baby arrives. It sounds as though Trout is leaning towards playing this year, but nothing is certain in these uncertain times. Normally a lock to be in consideration for the No. 1 overall fantasy pick, suddenly fantasy owners must weigh the risks of taking him that high and then having him sit out for all or a good chunk of the 2020 season. If Trout were to sit out, the chances of top prospect Jo Adell making a significant contribution would increase.
