Michael Conforto Activated From Injured List Friday
1 year agoThe San Francisco Giants officially activated outfielder Michael Conforto (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list on Friday and optioned rookie infielder Casey Schmitt to Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move. Manager Gabe Kapler said on Thursday that he was prepared to have Conforto serve as the team's designated hitter against the Colorado Rockies before that game was postponed due to rain, so Conforto should be in the starting lineup on Friday night at hitter-friendly Coors Field against Rockies right-hander Chase Anderson. The 30-year-old Conforto is back with San Fran after missing three weeks with a strained left hamstring. He has 15 home runs and 55 RBI in 370 at-bats this year and will be a sneaky DFS play at Coors Field against a pitcher that likes to give up homers.
