4 years agoNew York Mets president Sandy Alderson said that he's a fan of free-agent starting pitcher Trevor Bauer's brash personality. "If guys see someone performing, they'll live with whatever the baggage is. I actually think Bauer would be a great personality in New York. I think he's the kind of guy that fans would embrace," Alderson said on WFAN. The Mets have plenty of cash under new owner Steve Cohen, and they can't be ruled out as a landing spot for the right-handed strikeout artist with the Mets expected to make a big splash in the offseason. Marcus Stroman, Rick Porcello and Michael Wacha are hitting free agency and Steven Matz is a candidate to be non-tendered, so the team could use a piece behind ace Jacob deGrom. Bauer is going to be a fantasy ace no matter where he winds up. He's the favorite to win the National League Cy Young.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
