The New York Mets signed outfielder Juan Lagares to a minor league deal on Wednesday. A fan favorite in New York, Lagares had previously signed a minor league deal with the Padres back in February. After he was not added to the Padres' 60-man player pool in early July, Lagares elected free agency. Lagares will strictly serve as outfield replacement depth for the Mets in the shortened 2020 season. A defensive specialist with a career 82 wRC+, Lagares will not be in fantasy consideration even if his minor league contract is eventually purchased by the Mets and he makes the 30-man roster.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
