Mets, Kris Bryant Rumors Aren't True
4 years agoChicago Cubs president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer said that the rumors of the New York Mets and third baseman Kris Bryant are inaccurate. Hoyer also said he hasn't been engaged in any serious trade talks in a while, and nothing major is expected at this point with pitchers and catchers reporting to spring training this week. The Mets have been searching for an upgrade at the hot corner over J.D. Davis and have been linked to Bryant and A's third baseman Matt Chapman. The Mets would likely have to include at least one of their major league regulars in return, but a Bryant trade seems unlikely to happen before the regular season. That means that Davis should open the 2021 regular season with the lion's share of playing time at third base for an upgraded Mets lineup.
