Melvin Gordon III Struggling With Altitude In Denver
4 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III said that he's "struggling up here a little bit with the altitude." Gordon hasn't shown any ill effects when running the ball in drills, but he feels the altitude from play to play and practice to practice. The Broncos signed him to a two-year, $16 million deal in the offseason, and head coach Vic Fangio has said he plans to use Gordon and Phillip Lindsay plenty in the offense. It remains to be seen exactly how the team will split the usage, but Gordon is expected to be the 1A to Lindsay's 1B. The 27-year-old had one 1,000-yard rushing season with the Chargers and had four seasons with at least 41 catches. He'll be a low-end RB2 in fantasy. Owners shouldn't panic just yet, as Gordon still has plenty of time to get acclimated to the high altitude before the start of the season.
