Melvin Gordon III Finds The End Zone In Week 3
3 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III led the team's backfield in the 26-0 Week 3 win over the New York Jets, carrying the ball 18 times for 61 yards and his second touchdown of the season while also catching one of his two targets for 21 yards. Gordon had six more carries than rookie Javonte Williams, who also lost a fumble near the goal line. The 28-year-old was more efficient with his touches on Sunday and rewarded his fantasy managers by finding the end zone. He and Williams remain in a pretty even committee in the backfield, and the rookie may see fewer carries early next week because of his lost fumble. As long as Gordon continues to share work with Williams, he'll be more of an RB3/flex, and the Broncos won't always run the ball as much as they did against the Jets.
