Melvin Gordon III Doesn't Get Much Going Against Bengals
3 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III and the Broncos running game just could never get going in the 15-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 15. Gordon and rookie Javonte Williams both saw 15 carries apiece, but Williams out-gained Gordon 72 to 53 on the ground. Gordon caught his only target in the passing game for an eight-yard gain. Last week, both Gordon and Williams had two touchdowns apiece, but Gordon was only able to muster 3.5 yards per carry against a strong Bengals rush defense in this one. Things should get easier again on the ground in Week 16 against the Las Vegas Raiders, but the near-even split in this Broncos backfield will keep Gordon's fantasy ceiling capped. He'll be a low-end RB2 for fantasy managers in the semifinals in most fantasy formats.
