Boston Bruins winger Matthew Poitras continued to impress the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night as he collected his second preseason marker as part of a 5-4 overtime loss to the Washington Capitals. The 19-year-old's tally knotted the game at four apiece before Capitals forward Matthew Phillips ended the game with less than a minute remaining in overtime. Drafted 54th overall by the Bruins in 2022, Poitras spent last season with the Ontario Hockey League's Guelph Storm, racking up 16 goals and 95 points across 63 games. He is making a serious bid to crack the Bruins' roster out of camp but can also be returned to the Storm without burning a year off his entry-level contract before playing in his 10th NHL game.--Brenton Kemp
