Matthew Fitzpatrick is set to make his Pebble Beach debut in this week's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. It will be the Englishman's first start of the year on U.S. soil. Fitzpatrick is a member of the European Tour and primarily plays outside of America. He has fared well in recent international events, closing 2018 with a second-place finish in Hong Kong and scoring a fourth in Singapore and a T16 in Dubai in his two 2019 starts. Fitzpatrick's first trip to Pebble Beach is an attempt to get a look at the Pebble Beach layout that will host this year's U.S. Open. The Monterey Peninsula is notoriously tough on first timers.
