Matt Duffy Takes BP Tuesday
Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Matt Duffy (hamstring) was scheduled to take batting practice with the Gulf Coast Rays and was also scheduled for four to five at-bats in a simulated game in Port Charlotte. Duffy has been out all season but could be an option for the Rays lineup sometime next month. The 28-year-old hit .294 in 132 games for Tampa in 2018 with four homers, 44 RBI, 59 runs and 12 stolen bases. He's injury-prone and likely won't have a role that gives him regular playing time considering Yandy Diaz has locked third base down in 2019.
