2 months agoSan Jose Sharks defenseman Matt Benning (lower body) returned to practice on Sunday. A lower-body injury kept Benning out from the team's previous practice session on Friday. Benning is battling for a roster spot in preseason following a disappointing 2023-24 campaign. The 30-year-old saw action in only 14 games before undergoing season-ending hip surgery in January. A year after posting a career-high 24 points across 77 outings, he had zero goals and settled for two points. Benning isn't expected to make an impact in fantasy hockey during the 2024-25 season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
