Martin Truex Jr. On The Pole At Talladega
4 years agoJoe Gibbs Racing's Martin Truex Jr. and the No. 19 team drew the pole position for Sunday's Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. While he was inches short of winning the 2016 Daytona 500, superspeedway racing has not been Truex's forte. In 60 combined starts at Daytona and Talladega, Truex has only mustered four top-fives and 12 top-10s. In his last seven Talladega starts, Truex has failed to finish higher than 20th. Truex may lead some laps in the early stages, but it is unlikely he will stay there. In his career at Talladega, Truex has only led 63 laps. With the potential for a massive negative position differential, Truex offers no upside to DFS players. Avoid him in all lineups.
