5 years agoNASCAR’s return in mid-May was a welcomed sight for everyone, but Martin Truex Jr. seemed to enjoy it about as much as anyone, with five consecutive top-10 finishes to restart the season. That streak was stopped last week, though, with a 20th-place finish at Bristol. While disappointing, a return to mile-and-a-half racing should have everyone at JGR optimistic for Truex’s chances this week. With five straight finishes at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the top 10 and the last two in the top-five, Truex should be among this week’s favorites for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 despite his 11th-place starting position.--Ryan Devine
