Mark Leiter Jr Tosses Two Scoreless Innings
7 years agoIn the first game since he was once again promoted to the major leagues, Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Mark Leiter was inserted into Friday’s game against the San Francisco Giants. The 27-year-old came on in relief of starter Nick Pivetta in the fifth inning, going on to toss a pair of scoreless innings. He allowed just one hit, tossing 24 pitches in a promising, economic outing. While with the Phillies last season, Leiter spent time as both a starter and reliever, struggling in both facets, but also displaying signs of possible success.
