Marcus Mariota Makes Progress In Practice

Updating previous reports, Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota (elbow) made improvements in Thursday's practice, but offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur said the team will still take it "day by day and see where he is on Sunday." Mariota was able to drive the ball further down the field for the first time since injuring his elbow in Week 1, but he still wore a modified glove that had the index and middle fingers cut out. He was able to hit his receivers in stride across the middle of the field from 10 to 15 yards away, which is encouraging. It's looking like Mariota will be able to start this Sunday against the Jaguars, which is good news for receivers Corey Davis, Taywan Taylor and Rishard Matthews. However, the matchup is a tough one and Mariota still isn't a lock to start. Consider him a poor QB2 option if he plays.
