There were only a handful of players yet to win a Major being mentioned as possible contenders at Carnoustie. Marc Leishman just so happened to be near or at the top of most of those discussions. Leishman entered the Open Championship with relatively ordinary form, but nobody seemed to care with Leishman's recent track record at Open venues. The Aussie had posted three top-six finishes in four years and looked primed for another big showing at a course that should reward his immaculate skills in the wind. Unfortunately, Leishman could never quite get himself into gear, posting a five-over par and finishing in 60th place. Despite the mediocre showing, if the three-time winner on the PGA Tour is ever going to pick up his first Major Title, it seems as if the Open Championship will continue to be his best bet going forward. --Spencer Aguiar - RotoBallerRead More News
