6 months agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Manny Machado hit two home runs and had three hits with three RBI and two runs on Thursday. Machado now has 12 home runs and 36 RBI on the season and his slashing .247/.333/.425. The Padres slugger hasn't been as productive as his owners would have hoped thus far. His strikeout rate of 21.3% is a concerning increase from last year's 14.7% clip and his barrel rate of 8.1% is a notable drop-off from last year's 11.3%. He isn't looking like the elite fantasy contributor he once was, but his owners shouldn't sell him low. Better times should be ahead even though he may not hit 30+ home runs like he did the past four years.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
