Luke Weaver Has Strained Forearm

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Luke Weaver (forearm) was diagnosed with a right forearm strain and will seek a second opinion, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Weaver was placed on the injured list on Monday, but as of now this looks like an encouraging development as long as he can avoid surgery. The 25-year-old right-hander has gone 4-3 with a 3.03 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 68 strikeouts in 62 1/3 innings in his 11 starts in his first season in the desert. He could still be out for an extended amount of time, so fantasy owners will need to stay patient and keep him stashed in an injured list spot.
