Lucas Niang Set To Return In 2021
4 years agoKansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Lucas Niang, who opted out last season due to COVID-19, is expected to return this season and play right tackle for the team. That's big news after the Chiefs released Mitchell Schwartz recently. They also signed guard Joe Thuney to a big five-year deal in free agency, and Thuney has the ability to play multiple spots along the line. The Chiefs are also visiting with veteran guard Kyle Long, who is working towards a comeback after a year of retirement. Kansas City also released left tackle Eric Fisher after an Achilles injury sidelined him in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs makeshift offensive line was destroyed by the Buccaneers in their Super Bowl loss, so upgrading the big men in front of quarterback Patrick Mahomes is a top priority this offseason.
