Lorenzo Cain Suffers Jammed Right Thumb
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Lorenzo Cain (thumb) was forced out of Wednesday's game against the Miami Marlins due to a jammed right thumb. He also fouled a ball off of his front foot during an at-bat, so he was having a pretty tough night. Cain was hitless in three at-bats, as his average slipped to .253, before departing. Hernan Perez replaced him in the lineup in the ninth inning. It's uncertain if Cain will be forced to miss time, but the 33-year-old is in the midst of a 7-for-43 (.163) skid dating back to May 18, as his average has tumbled from .274 to .253. He could probably use a day off or two to recharge and refocus.
