Lorenzo Cain Making Progress From Hamstring Strain
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Lorenzo Cain (hamstring) will fly to New York with the team, and if he continues to progress, he will depart for a lengthy minor league rehab assignment. Cain has been out with a right hamstring strain since May 31. Don't expect him to return to the Milwaukee lineup until the second half of the season. Fantasy managers in mixed leagues won't be in a hurry to pick him up off the waiver wire, either, as he was hitting just .223/.322/.350 with three home runs, 17 runs scored, nine RBI and four stolen bases in 118 plate appearances before the injury. Jackie Bradley Jr. hasn't been much better in 2021 in center field for the Brew Crew, though. Expect some sort of platoon between the two when Cain is healthy enough to return.
