Logan Webb Pitches Into Ninth Inning Monday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Logan Webb nearly went the distance in Monday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Phillies. Webb pitched 8 innings, allowing three runs on four hits (including three solo home runs) and no walks with 10 strikeouts. He entered the ninth inning with a one-run lead but was pulled after allowing a game-tying HR to Kyle Schwarber. Webb now has a 5-1 record with a 3.52 ERA, 50 strikeouts, and 14 walks over 10 starts and 61 1/3 IP. The strikeouts haven't been quite what fantasy managers had hoped for, but this outing was certainly encouraging. Webb will look to rack up more punchouts in his next start at the Marlins.
