Logan Gilbert Strikes Out Three in Rehab Outing
Logan Gilbert (elbow) allowed one earned run and struck out three batters during his Triple-A rehab outing on Thursday. The right-hander lasted 1.2 innings, allowing two hits and two walks. He also plunked a batter. Although he demonstrated his familiar ability to strike out batters, the fact that Gilbert issued three free passes is somewhat concerning. He had already thrown 45 pitches by the time he was pulled from the game in the second inning. The 28-year-old is likely headed for at least one more rehab start before he's cleared to return to an MLB mound.
