Logan Allen Blanks Cincinnati Over Six Innings
Logan Allen shut down the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday when he allowed four hits, three walks, and struck out seven over six innings in a 3-0 win. Allen allowed at least one base runner to reach in all but one of his six innings but he was able to work around the traffic every time. The 24-year-old has been rock-solid so far in August, working a 1.59 ERA and 1.36 WHIP over three starts (17 innings). For the season, he owns a 6-5 record, 3.33 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 95:38 K/BB ratio over 97 1/3 innings (18 starts). He'll toe the rubber once again on Sunday at home against the Detroit Tigers.
