Latavius Murray Leads Broncos Backfield In Debut
2 years agoOut of nowhere, the Denver Broncos benched running back Melvin Gordon III in favor of Latavius Murray in the Monday night loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Murray's debut with the team. Murray ended up with a team-high 15 carries for 66 yards (4.4 yards per carry) while also catching his only target for a loss of two yards. Gordon and Mike Boone combined for four carries for nine yards. It's unclear if this backfield rotation will continue in Murray's favor, but he at least deserves waiver-wire consideration in deeper leagues from fantasy managers desperate at the position. The 32-year-old will be a low-upside flex option in a Week 7 matchup against the New York Jets, but you can't expect much from this lackluster Broncos offense until something changes.
