Kyle Stowers Scratched on Monday Due to Illness
Kyle Stowers (illness) has been scratched from Monday's series opener at Busch Stadium against the hosting St. Louis Cardinals due to an illness, according to Christina De Nicola of MLB.com. Heriberto Hernandez will take over for Stowers in left field and will hit cleanup against Cardinals right-hander Andre Pallante. Fantasy managers will need to remove Stowers from their starting lineups and check back on Tuesday to see if he's feeling good enough to return to the lineup. The 27-year-old former second-round pick by the Baltimore Orioles in 2019 out of Stanford has been one of the better breakout position players in 2025, as he's currently hitting .299 (100-for-335) with 23 home runs, 63 RBI, 52 runs and five stolen bases. Hopefully, Stowers returns to action for Game 2 of the series in St. Louis on Tuesday.
