Kyle Rudolph 2020 Outlook: Reduced Role Likely
5 years agoMinnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph will enter his 10th season in the league and having played his entire career with the club. While he has managed to stay healthy over the years, he isn't the same player from a production standpoint that he was seasons ago. His six touchdowns in 2019 were welcomed by his fantasy owners, but his 39 receptions and 48 targets were some of the lowest marks of his career. Heading into 2020, Rudolph still possesses late-round value, but only in deeper formats, especially in 14-team leagues that require multiple tight ends on a week-to-week basis. However, anything beyond that, the 30-year-old is a desperation addition only capable of providing efficient performances when the matchup is right. 2019 Second-round pick Irv Smith Jr. will also likely have a more prominent role within the organization, which will ultimately drop Rudolph's stock even more.
