Kyle Harrison Under The Weather
1 year agoSan Francisco Giants rookie left-hander Kyle Harrison (illness) was scratched from his scheduled start on Tuesday against the San Diego Padres due to an illness. Right-hander John Brebbia got the start instead and took the loss, allowing an earned run on a solo homer while walking none and striking out two in just 1 1/3 innings of work as the opener. Left-hander Alex Wood served as the bulk reliever and went 4 2/3 innings, giving up an unearned run on four hits while walking three and striking out five. The 22-year-old Harrison hasn't been very sharp in his first six major-league starts, allowing 19 runs (16 earned) while walking nine, but he's also struck out 31 hitters in 29 2/3 innings. It remains to be seen if he'll get one more start before the end of the regular season on Sunday.
