Kyle Gibson Goes Seven Strong Innings
4 years agoTexas Rangers pitcher Kyle Gibson held the Houston Astros to just two runs over seven innings on Sunday but the club still fell 6-2 after the bullpen imploded. The veteran right-hander gave up four hits and two walks while striking out three batters. Since getting torched during his first start of the year, Gibson has only allowed more than two runs in a game once in eight starts. In three May appearances, he's allowed six runs and just 11 hits in 21 innings of work. During that stretch, he has a solid K-BB of 17-6. Gibson has succeeded this season with a new pitch (cutter) and improved control of his entire arsenal. He's a must-start pitcher moving forward.
