Kodai Senga To Be Shut Down For Three Weeks
10 months agoNew York Mets right-hander Kodai Senga (shoulder) received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his shoulder in New York. His shutdown period should last three weeks before he restarts a throwing program. Senga is going to start the 2024 regular season on the injured list as a result. The 31-year-old is dealing with a moderate posterior capsule strain in his right shoulder earlier this week. It's a blow to the top of the Mets' starting rotation and Senga's fantasy value in upcoming fantasy drafts. In a best-case scenario, Senga will probably miss the first month of the regular season, so fantasy managers need to bake that into their season-long projections. In his first big-league season in 2023, Senga impressed, posting a 2.98 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with 202 strikeouts and 77 walks in 166 1/3 frames.
