Kerryon Johnson Looks Decent in Regular Season Debut
6 years agoDetroit Lions rookie running back Kerryon Johnson gained 37 yards from scrimmage on eight touches, including 20 yards receiving on three catches (three targets). This contest was completely out of whack in terms of game script, as the Lions trailed 48-17 through three quarters. Unfortunately, this did not help provide much insight as to how the second-round pick would be deployed under normal game-flow circumstances. Considering he is the only running back on the roster that poses as a dual threat and the Lions steep investment in him, it is reasonable to speculate that Johnson will get all the opportunity to prove himself as the season moves along. He remains the top Lions running back to own, but his upside is limited as long as LeGarrette Blount and Theo Riddick stay entrenched in their roles.
