5 months agoHouston Astros starter Justin Verlander allowed four runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings as the Astros took down the Angels 10-4 on Sunday. The Angels were able to get to Verlander (5-1) early for three runs in the first two innings but he settled down and struck out seven hitters on the day. Angels catcher Jonathan Lucroy took Verlander deep twice in the game but otherwise the right-hander was able to cruise. Verlander is off to another sparkling start, posting a 2.86 ERA, a 0.87 WHIP and 60 strikeouts through 50 1/3 innings through his first eight starts.--Joey C - RotoBaller
