Julius Brents Could Contribute Immediately
2 years agoIndianapolis Colts rookie cornerback Julius Brents (wrist) was unable to take part in last weekend's rookie minicamp, but the second-round pick should be able to participate in workouts when training camp begins at the end of July. The Colts took quarterback Anthony Richardson in the first round, but Brents might have the best odds of becoming an immediate starter in his rookie season. The Colts traded cornerback Stephon Gilmore to Dallas and lost Brandon Facyson in free agency. "There are not a lot of guys 6-(foot)-3 playing corner in the league, but he is a really good athlete," general manager Chris Ballard said. "He's a really good fit for what we want to do because he's a press corner. We do want to play a little more press coverage. We think he's going to be really good at it."
