Julio Teheran Begins Long Tossing
3 years agoDetroit Tigers right-hander Julio Teheran (shoulder) has been long-tossing at the team's spring training complex, but he hasn't progressed to a full throwing program. Teheran made one start on April 3 before reporting shoulder issues and was diagnosed with a right shoulder strain. The veteran righty will likely need a long rehab assignment, much like another spring training, before returning. Teheran is unlikely to return before August and will only be an option in much deeper leagues despite allowing just one run in five innings pitched against the Cleveland Indians in his one start this season. The 30-year-old had a nightmarish 10.05 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and 5.7 K/9 in 31 1/3 innings for the Los Angeles Angels last year.
